Calypso
Wobbly Legs, Steady Heart
Calypso first came into our care through a local TNR programme, arriving initially for what was meant to be a routine spay. Sadly, it quickly became clear that she was suffering from a severe uterine infection and needed emergency surgery. Thankfully, she received the treatment she needed and, while recovering, she made another important decision of her own.
The moment she was allowed out of her cage to stretch her legs, Calypso climbed straight into her rescuer's lap and refused to leave. It was immediately obvious that this gentle girl was never meant to return to life on the streets.
True to her calico roots, Calypso is the perfect mix of sweetness and sass. She is curious, playful, and enjoys keeping herself entertained with interactive toys, bird watching, and keeping an eye on everything going on around her. While she is an independent lady who enjoys her own space, she also adores affection and rewards her people with the most wonderful purrs and cuddle sessions.
Calypso can be a little cautious when meeting new feline friends and likes to take introductions at her own pace. However, with slow and patient introductions, she settles well and enjoys companionship and play.
She would thrive either as an only cat in a home that can offer plenty of attention and stimulation, or with other friendly cats who match her playful energy. In return, her future family will gain a wonderfully balanced companion - independent yet affectionate, sassy yet incredibly loving.
